Dantes Restaurant
Since it opened in 1998, the restaurant has become a favourite
meeting place for local people, as well as increasingly attracting
customers from further afield with its superb menu and relaxed,
friendly atmosphere. It's role in the Colinton community is unique.
Dante Margiotta and his family were a Colinton institution long
before they opened the restaurant. They came to the area from their
native Italy nearly fifty years ago, and built a highly successful
newsagent and confectionery business on the premises where the restaurant
now stands.

More recently, they also ran a thriving delicatessen in the same
street. Their long involvement at every level in the life of the
village, and the numerous friendships that have resulted, are what
lend Dante's Restaurant the beguiling feel of a true community resource.
